Rushi Desai to become VP of Operations - Warfactory Events

Posted by killdashnine on Saturday, 12th January 2008 (12:00) PST

Hi Everyone, Dave "killdashnine" Derington here! As the President and CEO of Warfactory, we have come a long way throughout our history. Although I've never been absolutlely certain when Warfactory was born, I can trace it's history back over 10 years! Although we've only been "official" since 2005, Warfactory has been a staple in the gaming community and plans to continue growing to serve the needs of gamers in the Midwest and beyond!

Announcing Rushi Desai

Today I'm announcing that Rushi Desai, a seasoned veteran of competitive gaming, will become our VP of Operations for Warfactory Events. In short, this means that I have asked him to assume the day-to-day responsibilities for organization and execution of our LAN events within the region.

I've known Rushi for several years. He has not only played in all levels of competition for Counter-Strike (both 1.6 AND Source) via great teams such as Toysoldiers and Acid Reign. Rushi has been a CAL admin for seven seasons, a CPL Admin for four events, and a competitor for three major CPL events and eight seasons of CAL. Rushi knows competitive gaming and is well-suited to become a proud member of the Warfactory team ... please joinig me in welcoming him aboard!

Plans for 2008 and Beyond

We believe that 2008 will be a great year for Warfactory. With Rushi on-board, I will assisting and mentoring a new generation of gaming enthusiasts to become leaders in the industry. My role will also involve extending Warfactory's capabilities, offering our services to other organizations throughout the United States.

What's most important to us at Warfactory, however, is to take care of the gamers who support us! Our mission is to continue to give you quality tournaments and BYOC events with substantial payouts and great prizes. No matter whether your a professional gamer coming to compete or an amateur gamer who just comes to game with your friends, you'll find a friendly, professional, and technical staff committed to making your experience the best it can be.

We believe that E-Sports is about serving the needs of an active gaming community. Our first mission this year is to arrange a large event to play some of the most competitive games (e.g. CS 1.6 AND Source, Quake 3, and more). Please idle #warfactory on GameSurge and post in our forums.

Thanks, and Happy 2008!

Last Minute Changes for Luke's Game Space!

Posted by killdashnine on Thursday, 3rd January 2008 (12:00) PST

We've made some last minute changes for the event at Luke's Game Space. Please read closely!

Counter-Strike: Source - Prizing

We will provisionally be increasing the prize pot to $1000, however we need EIGHT TEAMS to commit to the event. This means that you guys need to tell your friends. If there are fewer than eight teams, we will keep the prize at $750. Please note: this event is not sponsored so all admission goes towards prizes. The event, therefore, is what you make of it!

Counter-Strike: Source - LIMITED BYOC

We do have a number of tournament machines that will be configured for play, but we are going to work to provide at least 40 seats at the event so gamers can bring their own machine. BYOC WILL BE FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE AND EXTREMELY LIMITED!!!!!! Basically, the first to sign up and pay will have options to use a tournament PC or use their own. We may limit participation to eight teams, so please be advised.

Halo 3 - Change in Prizing

Pre-registration for Halo 3 has been extremely low. Although there has been large turnouts at previous events we need roughly 40 participants (20 teams) to cover tournament expenses and keep the current prizing.

If there are less than 20 teams, we will still run the tournament as planned but payouts will depend upon total signups. There's still time to register though, so click here to register and pay in advance. (Note, you may also pay at the store!)

For Halo 3 fans who pre-registered and pre-paid, we encourage you to wait until the event to see how things will go. The Halo 3 will occur provided that enough people show up, but if you've prepaid expecting a certain payout and we don't reach that, we will be considerate.

Thanks Everyone ... see you on Saturday!!!
